Introduction to Travel and Tourism + Construct normal international airfares (Fares & Ticketing I and II)


If you don’t know a great deal about the Travel and Tourism Industry and how it works, this 2 course program will give you the knowledge you need to enter the industry plus the skills you need to calculate and understand the IATA Mileage System of Fare Construction.

The Introduction is knowledge based and the Fares course is skills based, so you may do them concurrently and gain your knowledge and skills on a program designed to let you study in your own time at your own pace.

Program Name: Introduction to the Travel & Tourism Industry + Construct normal international airfares – Fares & Ticketing I and II - SITTTSL012

Duration:  Introduction to Travel and Tourism – usually takes around 2 to 3 weeks, Construct normal international airfares  takes 80 to 100 hours to complete all online lessons, quizzes and assessments.  

What you will learn:
This program will give you the industry “know how” which will help you start an exciting career in the Travel and Tourism Industry. Great for those who have not had a background in this dynamic Industry. Completion will give you the background knowledge of the industry that normally takes new employees around 2 years to gain and successful completion of the IATA fares course (Construct normal international airfare ) will give you the skills required to calculate normal international airfares based on the IATA Mileage System of Fare Construction. This is a global  qualification known as IATA Fares and Ticketing I and II. A Fares and Ticketing I and II certificate is required for IATA Accreditation.

After registration:
You will be e-mailed a Student Profile to complete and return to the College plus a receipt for the course fee.

After your registration is processed, you will be e-mailed instructions on how to access the Introduction to Travel and Tourism. When this knowledge based course is completed you will need to read some Fares pre-course Information. When you confirm that you have completed and understood this Essential Reading you will be sent a Username and Password that will give you access to this interactive GDS based course.  Online Training Tips will be provided and tutor support is only an e-mail away.
